Perfection, Imperfection

By Bianca Slade

I grew up with my beautiful Gran and my delightful Aunty.
My Aunty had Down Syndrome.
With her biro she would ‘write’ like this in lined notebooks for hours, every single day.
Once completed she would file the books in her filing cabinet.
Countless books filled with countless loops.
Always neat, always perfect.
My Aunty taught me a million and one things, one of those things being; joy is often found in the simplest places.
